1001 Albums Summary

This album has a lot of potential as the instrumentation is genuinely very good and the lyrics are mostly good wirh a few notable exceptions. Bob Dylan’s voice however is borderline intolerable for most of this album. He is somehow never fully in key and the three songs I saved are ones where his vocal range is the narrowest and his glaring deficiencies as a singer are masked.

Love this album. Forgot how great someday and last nite were so It was good to hear those again. Opener and closing few songs don’t leave much of an impression on me however.

This album really just sounds like the 1980s with the elements of horns and synthesizers regularly shown. Michael Jackson does a great job utilizing these elements wirh his voice to create catchy melodies. Sometimes these melodies get a bit repetitive but generally his ad libs and use of tension keep the listener hooked.
