Doolittle by Pixies
Jan 20 2025

Listened to on 1/19/2025, I did not like it at the start because it felt loud and rough. At the end, I had gotten used to their sound and appreciated them more. I would rate this a 3/5, it was good but I am not a huge fan of this kind of music, although some of the songs such as "Hey", "La La Love You", "Here Comes Your Man" and "Gouge Away" were pretty good.

Stankonia by OutKast
Jan 21 2025

Listened to on 1/20/25. I enjoyed this album a lot with very good songs such as 'B.O.B", "Ms. Jackson", "Toilet Tisha", 'So Fresh, So Clean" and "Spaghetti Junction". Outkast's energy and lyrics are highlights of this album, the energy they carry is great. What brings this album down is the interludes which are boring, among that, the one song that I did not like was Snappin' & Trappin' which felt offbeat and clunky. Otherwise, I enjoyed this album a lot, i would rate it a 4/5.

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Jan 22 2025

Listened to on 1/21/25, this was a decent album in all honesty. The music was very soft and jazzy (obviously) which was pretty nice but some of the songs were definitely more boring than others. "Superfly" and "Freddie's Dead" were two standouts, they were unique and fun. The instrumentals were ok. Maybe today, I just was not feeling the soul music but regardless, a good album. I would rate it 4/5.

The Fat Of The Land by The Prodigy
Jan 23 2025

Listened to on 1/22/25, I struggled to listen to this one. The fast moving beats and synthesizer were not to my taste. The only song I liked a little bit was Diesel Power, and that had some decent lyrics at best. Everything was also extremely repetitive. This one was basically a DNL for me. I would rate it 2/5, not to my taste but could be for clubs and discos.

xx by The xx
Feb 12 2025

No need for the date anymore. I really liked this album, the softness and calm melodies really add to the nice background feel that it has. I really liked the feelings that it produced, something nice and relaxing. Although it did like some substance, it felt slightly boring. I particularly liked "Shelter" and "Stars". Overall, I would rate this album a 4/5, not perfect but pretty good in terms of vocals and production. Maybe it does need more intricate pieces though? Still I liked it.
