1001 Albums Summary

An enjoyable introduction to Neil Young's unique brand of folk, country, and rock which would evolve further in the years to come. A short listen, this record is a solid, enjoyable piece of work from Young and I've added several songs into my regular rotation.

Probably the best complete album by the Beatles in my opinion. All four members have songwriting credits on this record and each delivers; most notably George Harrison's "Here Comes the Sun" and "Someday", as well as Ringo Starr's "Octopus's Garden". Abbey Road has become one of the most iconic albums of all time among critics for both its music and its legendary and oft-parodied album cover and the cultural significance it holds.

My first time listening to a solo Thundercat record, I went in with high expectations after hearing his contributions on "To Pimp a Butterfly". I was slightly disappointed that "Drunk" wasn't a bit more high-energy, but I did enjoy some of the mellow and atmospheric vibes nonetheless. Favorite song was the K.Dot feature.

This album marks the beginning of the Stones' return to their bluesy rock & roll roots, a sound which they would go on to perfect during their projects in the late 60s and early 70s.
