Love the dichotomy and transition in some songs of what I would describe as harsh, heavy rock/metal sounds into more melodic, psychedelic rock. The first half of album contains a lot of interesting and unique sounds, mimicking stuff you would hear in a sci-fi outer space, galaxy type movie (hence Black Holes in the title). Also, it has a cynical undertone as shown in the lyrics, song titles, and overall vibes of the songs. Latter half of the album has some really good guitar playing and more mellow sounds (in relation to the first half). Still cynical undertone, but more melodic sounds and use of classical/acoustic instruments. Songs notes: - Starlight was my favorite - Didn't like Supermassive Black Hole (most popular song) - Liked Map of the Problematique, Assassin, Knights of Cydonia, and Glorious - Glorious started like a video game entry and transitioned so smoothly into a dope rock song - felt like i was entering the boss level of a video game (fitting since it was the last song of the album) Overall, really really cool listen, even if I don't love the genre or style of music.
