1001 Albums Summary

I’m genuinely shocked it took me this long to get to one of the most popular projects by a Beatles member Post-Beatles. Nonetheless, this album is great. Tracks like Band on The Run are absolute classics, and some of the other tracks like “Jet” and “No Words” were genuinely amazing. There are some moments where it doesn’t really know what it wants to be stylistically, but other than that, this is a very air tight classic, that definitely stands as one of the best Beatles Solo Member projects. Strong 8.

I have listened to this before, but coming back to it, it is still fantastic. Doolittle is packed with some of the most well written and catchy melodys of any alternative record of its time. Tracks like Here Comes Your Man and especially Monkey Gone to Heaven are spellbinding. I think with hindsight Surfer Rosa is a better album purely because of it production and soundscapes, but that should not take away from the fact that The Pixies Doolittle is one of the definitive Alternative Rock records of the 80s

I was not expecting what I got, to say the very least

An album that makes me want to play Melee and down a Mountain Dew Code Red, right before watching Evangelion

Very breezy electronic and indie record. Has some hiccups production wise, but still pretty good

Best stones album by a long shot. Cant believe it took me this long to listen to this
