1001 Albums Summary

The start was bad. Sounded like whinny country mixed with punk. About 3 songs into the album I started to enjoy it. I might try and listen again now that I know the style better.

Incredibly masculine. The first songs are so similar that it's hard to tell them apart. It then mellows out. To sure up again. But the lyric does not resonate with me.

This was pretty ignorable. It felt kind of like a folk version of children's songs. I feel like I needed to listen to the lyrics better to like this, but I wasn't drawn into the music.

This was a great combination of beats and ambient music. The lyrics seem secondary and don't take away from the music. Both are good for zoning out and listening fully.

I lack the time period / cultural context for this album. I enjoy the beat at times; however, I struggle to follow the lyrical flow and meaning. I do not enjoy the taking in-between. Not my style, I guess. I did enjoy the last few songs.

Musically, I like the sound. But I really am not a fan of the singers or the lyrics. I'm sure there is a historical reason they are on this list of must-hear music. But without a music history lesson. It's tough to listen to.

I feel like I liked every song. The voice is strange and strange at the same time. Some songs were so strange that they didn't flow well with the other. But you know the good thing. My music app has given me more music that is really cool now that it has noticed I listened to Tom Waits.

First 3 seconds made me cringe. I really don't like the country twang sound. It mellowed was more able to listen to it. Disclaimer. I mostly have only heard these songs when covered by other people. And with a first listen, I can tell why they are covered. They are beautiful songs. But his voice makes his songs tough to fully enjoy. It is very dated to the time it was created, and the updates to the songs are better for people like me with no nostalgia for the 70s. How many songs are on this. They are all blending together and my brain is bored.
