More De Stijl than White Blood Cells, as White evokes C&W and blues, in his own inimtable way. Slightly lacks the energy of his layer solo work
An interesting curio from Vaughan’s vaunted career. Your enjoyment of it may depend on your appreciation of jazz stylings from the time - two songs feature flubs (one is actually all flub) which Vaughn plays into stylistic choice. For me this lacks the tone of Ella Fitzgerald or the power of Billie Holliday but its opened me up to Vaughn as a performer.
