Well guys this is a great record & well worth a listen. First release by Dire Straits & they exploded onto the music scene in '78. Guitar work was always an outstanding feature of Dire Strait music & this record is a good example. These songs were a breath of fesh air at the time of release - a change from the New Wave/Punk music that was surging through the scene at the time. From memory some great tracks but I'd have to listen to it again ...... Sultans of Swing was, and still is, an absolute classic ..... I seem to recall In the Gallery & Water of Love were also great pieces of music. It's an 'essential listening' job this one. Some great Dire Straits music followed in later albums which included some other classics that have stood the test of time ...... Romeo & Juliet on the Making Music LP is one that comes to mind. I'll have another listen when I get a chance .....
