1001 Albums Summary

I won't deny Masekela's influence as an artist in the jazz space, but as a trumpet player myself, I haven't always enjoyed his soloing that much personally. Still, solid grooves throughout that held it up but def got slowed down in the latter half of the album

Kind of liked the start of it but then every song started blending together into a very similar sound, and I didn't like it enough to keep it interesting

Big album in jazz history but the solos can go on for a little too long for repeat listeners. But Chameleon especially has stood the test of time and is one of the most common funk/fusion songs young jazz musicians play when they are learning to improvise. Really fun to play
