1001 Albums Summary

Genuinely has more funk and instrumentation to it than I expected having only ever listened to their singles before, especially with tracks like Sabrosa, Futterman's Rule, Ricky's Theme, Shambala and Transitions. Thoroughly enjoyable album to kick off my 2nd attempt at the 1001 album challenge.

[[1001 - 2 Paul Simon - Graceland]] Is todays album, released a year before I was born, not quite to my style but definitely reminds me of sitting in a bar that plays all the classic rock/Americana sorta stuff which definitely isn't a bad thing now! Graceland is instantly recognisable, wonder if there will be any other tracks that ill recognise. Diamonds on the soles of her shoes is a bop but it wont be getting added to the big playlist. AHAHA And there it is I never knew what this track was called, I always thought of it as bodyguard, turns out You Can Call Me Al, it is getting added to the big playlist.

[[1001- 3 Pixies - Surfer Rosa]] Is todays, released 2 years after yesterdays Graceland, this one is more to my tastes when it comes to tonality, distorted, heavy and a little rough round the edges. I can see why they were popular at the time and honestly, so far it still holds up today. Oh and there it is, the one I know, Where is My Mind, proper banger if a bit overplayed. Thoroughly enjoyed Tony's Theme and Vamos in particular on first listen, I can see this becoming a favourite.
