Queens of the Stone Age by Queens Of The Stone Age
May 18 2025

Entertained from start to finish. A few moments of repetitiveness but it seems like in every instance they pull themselves out with either a spectacular hook melody or they shake you out of it with a huge jolt of energy. Loved almost every moment. Only a couple “filler” tracks, but they were still pretty good. It sounded like a band that were playing around, having fun, and developing their sound.

Songs From A Room by Leonard Cohen
May 19 2025

Very sparse but not necessarily minimalistic. Completely different vocalization than I expected. Good tones throughout just not enough for me. Interesting subtle placement of guitar and organ. It seemed like the same or similar lyrical and vocal patterns throughout which made it a little boring.

Want One by Rufus Wainwright
May 20 2025

Unexpectedly bright and whimsical album. A couple duds. A couple bangers.

Lady Soul by Aretha Franklin
May 21 2025

Terrific. I can’t say that I listen to a lot of soul music. Listening to this entire album may change that. Awesome band and backing vocals. LOVE that the instruments are mixed up. All bangers.

All Mod Cons by The Jam
May 22 2025

Let’s give credit where credit is due. These guys laid the groundwork for bands, like the Clash. However, The Clash did it better. Much much better. It’s painfully obvious that they ripped the Jam off LOL! But it’s just not exciting for me. Bland vocals and the hooks are not hooky enough.

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
May 24 2025

Really entertaining album. There were a few spots that sounded off. Maybe a song or two just didn’t match the vibe of the album as a whole. Deeply melancholic lyrics with little glimpses of hope. Not that it’s a bad thing, just worth noting.
