It was alright. Just alright. To me, a very overrated album. Not bad by any means, but definitely an insane slog, especially after Light My Fire. And don't even get me started on The End. Overall, a fine enough album but not a lyrical masterpiece or anything. Rating:6.1/10
First four songs are pretty good all things considered. Candy Says is very melancholy, with probably the best songwriting on the album. After Pale Blue Eyes the album falls off a cliff- not bad but not nearly to the expertise of the first four. Murder Mystery kind of sucks. Just monotonous for 9 bloody minutes. After Hours might just be the best song on the album though. Incredible closer to an alright to good album. Overall, Velvet Underground gets a 3.5
