Been 25+ years since I had listened to this album. It was popular with classmates when it came out. I appreciated different genre's of music at the time and never really listened to this one. Would listen to again (being my criteria for a 4).
An album out of my comfort zone, and I had never heard the band before but pleasantly surprised and would definitely listen to it again.
Great album, thoroughly enjoyed listening to it. I was aware of some of their songs, and listened to their newer material growing up, but hadn't gone into their catalogue before.
An album out of my comfort zone, while I had heard the band in concert, I don't remember liking their music this much. Would definitely listen to it again.
Although I've heard of the band, I had never listened to their records. This is not something I'd typically listen to, but a good record nevertheless. It will certainly be something I revisit from time to time.
On first listen, it did not resonate with me. After reading a little further about it, such as how it was a big change from prior music focused on individual songs to a whole album, and it was a favourite of Paul McCartney's, I took another listen. While still not a favourite, I did have a further appreciation for the album overall. I'll likely listen again at some point down the road to revisit.
Had this album when I was younger for Sure Shot only. This time I enjoyed that and the interludes the most. I know many enjoy the Beastie Boys, but their vocals don't agree with me.
Country, and from a long time ago, is beyond what I would have selected. While I appreciated the album in terms of vocals, mixing so that you could hear the vocals, and instrumentation, it is unlikely to be something which goes in rotation. Thus, the 2 of 5.
While a family member had this when I was younger, and appreciate the skill level, it is not something I would actively listen to again. Thus the 2 of 5 (if I could it would be 2.5).
