1001 Albums Summary

I didn't care for this. It felt like dirty soCal inspired rebellious rock of the 90s that would have been considered as "counterculture" for its age. He didn't strike me as a particularly talented singer nor lyricist. The album as a whole felt difficult to follow conceptually, and I can understand why people thought of rock and roll music as "from the devil" because it was quite cacophonous at times.

I listened to the first 6 tracks of this album. I was familiar with Ms Jackson and So Fresh, So Clean, but the others I really couldn't like. The lyrics are extremely demeaning to women. Clever in places, but I draw the line at trivializing rape and subjugating women to less than human treatment. Not cool
