Diamond Life by Sade
Jul 20 2025

One of those albums that lasts through the ages. I only regret that I did not own it when I was collecting vinyl in my youth. Smooth Operator and Your Love Is King are the two stand-outs, but the rest of the album is some smooth listening. Would give a higher rating if there were more chart topper songs.

Surprisingly good album. Once you get used to Shane MacGowan's voice it kind of grows on you. Fairy Tale Of New York and Irish Rover are classic songs.

Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs by Derek & The Dominos
Jul 23 2025

Eric Clapton is a guitar god. He may be an A-hole in real life, but this album is a treasure. True, Layla and maybe Little Wing are the only hit singles on the album, but the guitar playing is amazing on almost track.

Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath
Jul 24 2025

I didn't start enjoying Black Sabbath until later in life. I was more into punk and rock & roll as a kid. But this new style of music was revolutionary when it came out, and spawned the metal genre. Toni Iommi's guitar playing is still the essence of metal music, and I Ozzie's voice is still chilling to the bone. The 5 star albums from Sabbath came later IMHO, but this one is a classic.

Hail To the Thief by Radiohead
Jul 25 2025

Every song on this album will have you tapping your feet and saying, "I'm enjoying it, but what the hell is this song about?" This album contains so many weird sounds. Definitely an emotion factory. Probably best to listen to it stoned. But these chaps are talented, no doubt, and I'm sure this album was ground breaking. It's just not one that I would reach for that often.

Brothers by The Black Keys
Jul 26 2025

Cool album and a neat band. Just not my go-to favorite, but I enjoy the music when it's on.

Fear Of Music by Talking Heads
Jul 27 2025

I love the Talking Heads. Aside from Life During Wartime and Heaven, this album is kind of a circle jerk by the band.

The Sounds Of India by Ravi Shankar
Jul 28 2025

Amazing. I have never really just relaxed my mind and listened to the music of Ravi Shankar before. Highly recommended. Even the dogs liked it.
