Doolittle by Pixies

Would give a 3.5 but no halves so I am bumping this up to a four. Very few low points on this album, only a little lower because it's a bit repetitive sonically. Lots of great songs though. Debaser, Here Comes Your Man, and, of course, Hey! Good album.

Fun to listen to while working but not something I would go out of my way to listen to again. The music felt outdoors and peaceful.

Aladdin Sane by David Bowie
Aug 14 2025

My first David Bowie album. I had a lot of fun listening to this and liked it a lot more than the last one. Some tracks were slow and not very interesting but others were bursting with energy and rhythm! Definitely something I would listen to again and something that makes me want to listen to more of his work.

I have finally listened to the funny screaming guy album. Being someone who has listened to The Dark Side of the Moon and was not impressionable in the late sixties, I have to say my perspective is muddled. I am sure that this was a very important album for the time. I am also sure that because it has been half a century since this album was released, I am less impressed by it than I should be. Some parts of this were absolutely fantastic and some of the best music I have heard in months. Some parts of this album were insanely boring to listen to. I will likely be returning to every track except Moonchild. To surmise, I am glad that I have finally listened to this and do not regret my time.

Bright Flight by Silver Jews

I normally do not care for this kind of music but this album was absolutely fantastic and I will certainly be revisiting it again. This man manages to sound sad without being so depressing I roll my eyes at it. I love it.

The Stranger by Billy Joel

Classic album. Likely Joel's most accessible. The album that got me into him. Hit after hit after hit after hit and the only downside of that is the last two tracks do not hit as hard as the preceding seven. They are still great songs though! This is one of my favorite albums and I will continue to come back to it for years to come.
