Listening statistics & highlights
This just wasn't for me. I'm not a huge R&B fan, and disco isn't my jam either. I can appreciate the talent. I would have been unlikely to listen to this on my own, so I enjoyed getting out of my usual taste freeze. However, not something I'd seek out again.
A good album but not my favorite by Beck. It does however have one of my favorite songs of all time in Black Tambourine. I liked this song on release, but then I saw Beck perform it live. Now everytime I hear this song, I get goosebumps remembering how this song absolutely stole the show in what was already a slamming set. Hard to replicate the energy and feeling of something like that on an album, but this still stands out as a favorite for me. My personal experience is an obvious bias for why I love this album.
Just not my jams.
Loved this album when it came out, and it still resonates with me today. Time to Pretend and Kids hit me right in the feels.
