First impression is that electronic music is perhaps not for me. I like music that I can sing to, dance to, or maybe that will help me focus. This didn’t do that for me, but I can appreciate the experimental feeling, the combination of sounds, the creativity. It was unique for me. I’m interested in learning more about its history. I’m relieved to go back to my own music after this, though.
Interesting to listen to a rock reggae album. Problematic elements aside, I liked this album a lot more than yesterday’s. I think the bass and the drums were my favorite part of this album.
When I started listening to Exp, I was thinking “wait wtf is happening” and it wasn’t pleasant to listen to… but I was intrigued haha. Overall I really I liked the guitar and grooviness once I got into it. I thought “now we’re rockin!” I’m vibing to Little Wing right now. This helps me gain appreciation for psychedelic rock. I like it.
I got super excited when it came to listening to Jethro Tull! I have enjoyed listening to them in the past. Anyone who hates on the flute or says it isn’t rock & roll can eat my butt. I’m biased, but I think the flute elevates the music and gives it such a unique color and sound!! Flute IS rock and roll!!
I just barely started the album, and I already like it. I got into a groove. There’s something about how 80s music makes me feel my feelings that is satisfying… almost like I’m in tune with the universe.
This album was not for me. It was *painful* to listen to, but it just made me feel kind of anxious and like I didn’t know what to do. I could bop to some, but with others, it felt like the percussion was too fast and urgent for me.
I feel like I’m sitting around a campfire listening to someone sing. It’s melancholy, but emotional and intimate. Not my favorite style, but I’m glad I listened.
This album definitely has a solid dance beat! I could get down to this on a dance floor. DMSR is especially funky. As much of a vibe and mood this album is, I don’t know if it really fits me (despite me being born in 1999) because it’s too much sex and partying for my personal vibe.
When I opened this, I knew immediately. This is going to be a 5/5. I am so excited! I love ABBA! Enough said.
I like that this music transports me to the 60s. I’m a big fan of the harmonica and the brass instruments too. His voice isn’t the best? But it also feels more outdoorsy and like “music for the people”
I actually really love this album! I’ve seen reviews where other people find it derivative etc. but purely from a listening perspective and how it makes me feel, I really like it. It sits well with my ears. It reminds me a lot of the Beatles and is comforting to me. I especially like My Back Pages.
Yeah, Green Day is great! They have a unique and recognizable sound and I enjoy them very much. I like his voice and the way the instrumentals sound in a rock music context. Welcome to Paradise is always nostalgic to me.
I already really like Broken Skin! It feels like a chill song I could do homework too, but I could also enjoy and appreciate the lyrical content. Other than that, some of the music isn’t for me. For example, The Conference is just rhythmic noise to me.
I really enjoyed this album! It’s my first time listening to a full album in a while and this was a good mellow one to get back into, like it put me in a trance. Love the synth (Stranger Things has helped me appreciate synth more). I enjoy This Must Be the Place I Waited Years to Leave.
