1001 Albums Summary

I'm not really used to reviewing music. I think I listen to it in a much more passive way than most people, so I don't know if I'll have much to say. Definitely nothing of interest to say. Now that's out of the way, this album was beautiful. I'm sure at some point I've heard Stevie Wonder's work, given the legend that he is, but this is my first time really listening to him and I think I'm already hooked. From start to finish this was one of the most perfect listening experiences I've ever had. I have no idea if this website is randomized or the albums are always in the same order, but I can't imagine a better start.

I think by objective metrics it's an excellent album. Does a lot of interesting things, quite experimental, has a lot to say. That being said it's just not speaking to me, that experimentalism feels self indulgent a lot of the time and it's just not working for me. Undeniably great music, but not for me.

Another inconsistant one. I absolutely loved about a third of the songs and I'll be listening to them again. The other two thirds however didn't really do anything for me.
