Beauty And The Beat by The Go-Go's
Sep 08 2025

Charging forward, dense female harmonies, powerful girl group energy. Bit of a driving 60's instrumental feel in the bass, drums, and electric movement. Infused with light rage and definite power. "We Got the Beat"

Sep 09 2025

Classic oldschool hip-hop album that was instrumental in the 90s. Explicit and aggressive, generally. "Clan in Da Front" has sweet piano work. Strange vocal choices to create a wavey sound "C.R.E.A.M. Cash Rules Everything Around me" is surprisingly mellow with a simple beat, piano plucking, and steady rap rhythm.

Kind Of Blue by Miles Davis
Sep 10 2025

GOOD haunting, lonesome jazz with a delicious static behind it tasting of old vinyl, cloudy days, and muggy weather. So full of longing, this blue Blue album. Yet, somehow it makes me feel fully where I need to be and infused with some kind of something like hope.

Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette
Sep 12 2025

Power anthems that capture the angst and irritation and insecurities that plague women in their 20's. Alanis pushes her voice to their ugly limits and sings distinctly nasally which fits with the billing but isn't it for me, tonally. "All I really Want," "You Oughta Know," and "Hand in My Pocket" are familiar to me. "You Learn" sounds like it needs to be listened to on a CD with tragically flat-ironed hair and a fresh history of teenage injustices. Something super satisfying about it.
