Back At The Chicken Shack by Jimmy Smith
Oct 20 2025

(Genre = Jazz) 1. Back At The Chicken Shack - 5/10 2. When I Grow To Old To Dream - 5/10 3. Minor Chant - 3/10 4. Messy Bessie - 5/10 5. On The Sunny Side Of The Street - 4/10 (Album Rating = 4.4/10) - Album has no lyrics, just instrumentation, which is NOT my type of genre/music. Each song is about 10 minutes on average, which is too long for a song in my opinion. Good music, just not for me! Also, since I don't listen to jazz, it all sounds the same to me unfortunately.

(Genre = Art and Psychedelic Rock) 1. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - 8/10 2. With A Little Help From My Friends - 10/10 3. Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds - 8/10 4. Getting Better - 10/10 5. Fixing A Hole - 7/10 6. She's Leaving Home - 6/10 7. Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite! - 9/10 8. Within You Without You - 5/10 9. When I'm Sixty Four - 10/10 10. Lovely Rita - 6/10 11. Good Morning Good Morning - 5/10 12. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise) - 8/10 13. A Day In The Life - 7/10 (Album Rating - 7.5/10 - I don't listen to The Beatles often, but I was pleasantly surprised with this album. They have very soft and soothing vocals, giving me Oasis vibes (who I absolutely love), so I will definitely like to listen to more of their music. The songs have very cool and different instrumentations and beats which is my favourite feature of songs, so very cool album!!

(Genre = Punk and Indie Rock) 1. The View From The Afternoon - 9/10 2. I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor - 8/10 3. Fake Tales of San Francisco - 7/10 4. Dancing Shoes - 7/10 5. You Probably Couldn’t See For The Lights But You Were Staring Straight At Me - 7/10 6. Still Take You Home - 6/10 7. Riot Van - 8/10 8. Red Light Indicates Doors Are Secured - 6/10 9. Mardy Bum - 10/10 10. Perhaps Vampires Is A Bit Strong But..... - 5/10 11. When The Sun Goes Down - 9/10 12. From The Ritz To The Rubble - 7/10 13. A Certain Romance - 9/10 (Album Rating = 7/10) I absolutely love the Arctic Monkeys, but I prefer their more recent work in comparison to this album. Loving the rock elements throughout this album, and how each song sounds very different from the next. Glad I was recommended this album as I have added a few songs to my playlists and would probably listen to this album again!

Stardust by Willie Nelson
Oct 23 2025

(Genre = Country-Pop) 1. Stardust - 8/10 2. Georgia On My Mind - 6/10 3. Blue Skies - 7/10 4. All of Me - 5/10 5. Unchained Melody - 5/10 6. September Song - 3/10 7. On The Sunny Side Of The Street - 5/10 8. Moonlight In Vermont - 8/10 9. Don't Get Around Much Anymore - 6/10 10. Someone To Watch Over Me - 7/10 (Album Rating = 6/10) As someone who doesn't listen to country music that much, I can appreciate this album for what it is. I love 70s and 80s music, so I really like the authentic and older vibes to this album, but am not too fond of the harmonica in basically all the songs. It was fine to listen to this album, but I wouldn't listen to it again. Did add a few songs to my playlists tho!

Purple Rain by Prince
Oct 27 2025

(Genre - Funk & RnB) 1. Let's Go Crazy - 7/10 2. Take Me With U - 9/10 3. The Beautiful Ones - 7/10 4. Computer Blue - 5/10 5. Darling Nikki - 4/10 6. When Doves Cry - 9/10 7. I Would Die 4 U - 7/10 8. Baby I'm A Star - 6/10 9. Purple Rain - 10/10 (Album Rating - 7/10) I am not necessarily a fan of Prince's music, nor do I listen to his music much, but I can say that I love the uniqueness to his music as well as his distinct artistry. I love his androgynous persona, and how expressive he is in his music. His lyricism is very meaningful and I can appreciate the different beats displayed in each song.
