Caetano Veloso
by Caetano Veloso
I had so much fun listening to this, but I really wish I was able to understand the lyrics, especially when he is essentially criticising Brazilian life under military dictatorship. Obviously ,I am not meant to resonate with Veloso's music, but I can still understand how significant this was in Brazil in the late '60s. Not to sound too ignorant or anything, but I am not familiar with the Tropicália genre in the slightest, however, knowing that this was one of the first genre efforts is so cool to me, especially with making such a bold protest to the Brazilian government.
