1001 Albums Summary

it's the first time i hear from these guys and they did not fail to dissapoint. i mean i know indie rock is supposed to be pretentious, but if you're going to do stuff that's new or you personally consider original at least do some better work on the mastering and the engineering. i dont think i will be coming back to that album. i consider myself a pretentious prick but that was just a bland try to do something that has actually already been done. i appreciate the use of different themes (the latin stuff was a nice pleasent surprise as a combination to the more indie sound) and not sticking to one style tho

I know Jorge Ben Jor for a while. I discovered him the first time i wanted to learn more about bossa nova and samba. This project didn’t disappoint. Amazing samba funk and for me a little samba rock fusion.

i love jazz and this was a nice addition to my knowledge but nothing i have not heard

It’s the first time i hear a Simon and Garfunkel albums. I know about them for a long time but honestly i don’t see why they are considered so important. I get that they are influential but maybe the folk elements are just not my thing. I will give them another try but that was not it, with the exception of 1 or 2 songs.

I dont know if i will be coming back to that album at the moment, but im sure that at one point i will remember it in a different mood; decent listen, important for sure. rudeboy

hate for kanye and hate for the whole tiktok wave but this album is amazing. for sure an album that leaves a deep trace in music history. never been amazed from his rapping but he’s the mind behind the whole project so no matter if he is not the only producer i have to give him props for the production which is the reason i give it 5. the best way i can describe it is it’s over the top but in the most accessible (and commercial) way possible. also hate for the usage of themes such as king crimson, black sabbath and aphex twin, never again please, respect the true artists kanye
