1001 Albums Summary

Truly a must have album for any serious jazz collector and audiophile.

The Atomic Mr. Basie - Count Basie & His Orchestra While I'm not a fan of big band orchestras there is plenty on this album that focuses on the genius of Count Basie as his unique piano playing abilities are more pronounced and not so overwhelmed by his orchestra. His arrangements are, as always, excellent.

Nor my type of music although I am familiar with the artists work.

I was able to review Steely Dan's "countdown to ecstasy" via equipment permitting Hi-Resolution listening as opposed to the vinyl album, which I remember listening to in the 1970s. The Hi-Resolution used in this review was excellent.

A meeting of two a great musicians this should be part of every jazz and bossa nova lover's collection.
