1001 Albums Summary

Mama Said - very reminiscent of the melody and music of the era. You don't own me is iconic. Do re me - nice sax or trumpet work, catchy vocals and pitch down. 4th track, I'm not sure the backing vocals really do anything here, nice breakdown with piano. My coloring book, interesting reverberation on the vocals, backing strings really help lift the vocals. Mockingbird - the classic featured in Dumb and Dumber haha...

Never mind the rainy day woman, the message is clear on track 1. It's reminiscent of jazz of the day. This was my first introduction to Dylan. Pledging my time is great poetry. Visions of Johanna is a damn book, deep lyrically and melodically, with a message. One of us must know is an apology wrapped in retribution. I know Dylan is a legend but my fuck he's a 5/10 singer. Leopard skin pillbox hat is am amazing euphemism.

It just wasn't my thing. Reminded me way too much of velvet underground but it seemed many songs felt similar

some bangers but overall some of the tonal elements of songs were disruptive to my listening experience.

The dawning of the millennium needed a sound track, a prophet and a message. 10/10, all time for me. Perhaps it was my listening to this at 15, maybe that 9/11 happened just before this was released.
