Blues Rock. "The record deals far more with death; death and the romance of death. That's why I have a vulture on my shoulder on the cover. I’m making friends with the vulture. He’s not waiting for me to die to pick at me, we’re friends, and we’re in this together." For those who don't know, Jack White used to be part of The White Stripes until he went solo. Blunderbuss showcases what someone can really do with talent, vision, and proven ability. Jack White almost entirely wrote the album himself and self-produced and self-recorded: he wrote the lyrics for and composed every song except two. It's not my cup of tea and not my favorite genre. I don't even have the best trained ear, but I can hear the excellence and originality. Considering how much popular music is written by all the same people, this is a standout album. For comparison, the industry pics/plants of Madison Beer, Tate Mcrae, Sabrina Carpenter, The Kid LAROI, etc.... have whole teams of ghost writers, lyricists, to produce a popular sound. E.g., Tate McRae's latest album "So Close to What" had 26 dedicated staff who helped her put it together. She is listed as a write on each song, but let's not kid ourselves. She is owned by her label. Point made.
