The White Room by The KLF
Dec 01 2025

Listening to this album evokes a lot of memories from that particular time in my life, specifically, living in England as a 20-something in the late 80s. Going to clubs, dancing and experiencing British nightlife after having spent most of the 1980s in Aussie pubs watching live bands - a totally different scene and sound. The beats, the vocals and the whole style of music was totally new and invigorating at the time. Definitely a product of its time and still made me want to get up and dance. Would I choose to listen to it now? Probably not.

Didn't really enjoy it much at the time and it hasn't improved with age. A couple of good songs, only because they remind me of people and places of that era, but overall a fairly average product of its time.

Grace by Jeff Buckley

Incredibly haunting album with so many memorable songs.

Green by R.E.M.

A timeless album that I keep coming back to, all these years later. So many great songs.
