day one: the strangers- billy joel (1977) 1. movin' out (anthony's song) - starts a story- expanding on the concept of money and defiance - multiple stories? interconnected? - 1:27 "cadillac-ac-ac-ac" - 1:50 nice slow tone before "moving out" - 2:54 exit with the car, more rock elements 2. the stranger - piano intro... love - one minute intro... yikes - leaning into the rock elements - 2:05 "don't be afraid to try again" - long song but super fast paced - makes it feel shorter 3. just the way you are - very different vibe - jazz solo? sax? - kind of boring 4. scenes from an italian restaurant - slow, mellow - this song is going to be sooo long - not loving it - speeding up, rock elements - better as it goes but not a favorite 5. vienna - this is his popular song - it's shorter so it's a break from the long songs - i like it 6. only the good die young - very different from vienna - this is nice 7. she's always a woman - loving the guitar 8. get it right the first time - loving the vocals - sounds like perfectionism in a naturally messy person - very faced paced 9. everybody has a dream - soooo long - boring after song 8 - i like the chorus rating: 3/5
