1001 Albums Summary

I liked this album, it was fun and felt nostalgic for me. It was a little repetitive but kept me interested. My main focus was on the instrumentals in most of the tracks, but some of them were more vocal-centered. The vocals were nothing special, they fit well with the vibe and were well supported by the instrumentals. I quite enjoyed the instrumentals. They gave classic rock with a twist. I liked the complex drum patterns and I thought the time changes made the whole record sound a lot cooler. I do think a lot of the tracks were very similar sounding, but I appreciated the small complexities that made them different.

This album is a masterpiece. The amount of emotion portrayed through each song is unmatched. You can hear and even feel his emotions through his singing, making listening a melancholy experience. The instrumentals aren’t super complex, but they do a great job at supporting the vocals and helping them create a bigger impact. I also love the use of low guitar riffs and the organ throughout the tracks, adding a unique texture. My favorite track is Forget Her because of the sheer emotion in his voice and the build within the instrumentals at the end. It’s always the song I find myself belting whenever it comes on. It never fails to get me in my feels.

I was not expecting a track like Battlestar Scralatchtica, but I think it’s a great addition to showcase the musicianship of the group and demonstrate their abilities across genres.

I think this album is fun. I like the vocalist and I think the style is cool. It’s kinda like upbeat indie/alternative rock. I think the instrumentals are pretty cool and I like the dreamy background vocals.
