Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
Dec 31 2025

I do like Pink Floyd but am not a really massive fan aside from Dark Side of The Moon, but I really enjoyed this from start to finish. Loved the opening track 'Shine On You Crazy Diamonds (pts 1-5)'. That had me hooked.

Pretenders by Pretenders
Jan 01 2026

Great album and a great introduction to the Pretenders as a first time listener (aside from the obvious hits they've had). Loved the first half of the album a lot and will listen again. Chrissie Hynde is a wonderful singer and Martin Chambers drumming is fantastic.

The Specials by The Specials
Jan 02 2026

Great from start to finish by a very influential band. Love the production of this album. It's warm, angry, uplifting all at once. Fantastic!

In Utero by Nirvana
Jan 05 2026

Pretty familiar with this album already. Personally feel their sounds lends itself perfectly to Steve Albini production. Raw, the drums sound amazing through the whole thing. Very loose and loud. Also contains some of their best songs IMO - Heart Shaped Box, Dumb. Great album and always felt I'd love to hear Nevermind produced the same way.

Back At The Chicken Shack by Jimmy Smith
Jan 07 2026

I had heard of Jimmy Smith, but this album was definitely something that hadn't crossed my path. I enjoyed it. Its clearly done by very talented musicians and has a lovely vibe. Its not something I loved, but absolutley can appreciate it. Worth listening to (even if Jazz isnt your bag).

Rip It Up by Orange Juice
Jan 08 2026

While I really liked Edwyn Collins voice, it didnt grab me on first listen. However, will probably revisit this another time.
