1001 Albums Summary

I think I just don't realllllly love this era of rap. It feels like, to me, that a lot of the listening pleasure/appeal would come from nostalgia of the time when this was popular, which I don't have because I wasn't alive. Not what I reach for ever, but maybe that will be different when I'm living in NYC. I feel like walking down the street to this would put you in a vibe for sure. Or maybe at an outdoor party/cookout in the summer. I don't imagine myself reaching for it to listen to alone anytime really. I do love how political it is. Love the piano in Parental Discretion Iz Advised. Can appreciate it for historical significance, but I don't think I personally enjoy it that much. fav track: something 2 dace 2 OR fuck tha police

fav tracks: butter, vibes and stuff, everything is fair also not really my type of music, but I can appreciate it for its significance. it is really good, just not what I would ever reach for to listen to on my own. glad I heard it regardless because they're legends.

new fav song from this album: you never give me your money. a classic that still stands strong

this was very heady and artful. loved all the BIG sounds. not the most easy listening (like I probs wouldn't put it on unless I was listening intentionally) but peak superb craft. one of the songs got added to my spooky playlist

what the hell nobody ever told me david bowie sounded like lynyrd skynyrd got rocky horror picture showified..soooo turned gay (only at first song on album 'watch that man'). this shit is so chaotic, remind me not to listen to it while tripping unless i'm super zen (i'm usually not). picking flights while listening to this and it's stressing me tf out but I love it. fantastic fever dream I love it.

unfortunately, a perfect album

this is 100% my shit. no notes, just incredible. (dink's song on spotify is definitely not jack elliot, it was like an ella fitzgerald or someone song)

kate bush for men (weird and good). sometimes I didn’t like it but mostly I did!

awesome vibes, didn't think I was going to know anything but a lot of it was very familiar. fantastic listen.
