The Wall by Pink Floyd

Album #1 January 12th 2026 Favorite Song: Comfortably Numb This is a cool album. It goes through a mix of things, seeming to start with abuse in education, then moving to a lustful age, then an unstable mental state, then a cry for help, then a state of acceptance. The instrumental music is great, all of the guitar parts just sound so good and everything fits together so well. I did really enjoy the "non instrumental" parts of the music. For example, when they would add screaming to some of the songs or talking in the background that wasn't necessarily lyrical. Another part of this album that I thought was really cool was the transitions between songs, for majority of them, if I wasn't reading the lyrics while listening I wouldn't have known a new song had come on. Overall this whole album told a story and especially near the end you could tell. The second to last song "The Trial" seemed to come straight out of a play. This was a long album but I would say it was worth it. I would rate this a solid 8.5/10.

The White Album by Beatles

Album #2 January 13th Favorite Song: Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da I've got mixed feelings about this album. The music contained inside of it is good for the most part. There doesn't seem to be any general theme going on, but there are a lot of love songs. Some of the songs in it are really good and nostalgic for me but there are others that I would prefer not to hear again. I would definitely listen to some of the songs by themselves outside of the album but I don't think I would spend the time to listen to the whole thing all the way through again. There are some catchy songs that I could definitely see myself singing in the car. While there were some "bad" songs, I do appreciate the amount of different instruments they used throughout the album, it was cool hearing some variation between the songs. Because of the good songs inside of it I will rate this a 6.5/10.

Africa Brasil by Jorge Ben Jor

Album #3 January 14th 2026 Favorite Song: A História De Jorge This album was sung in Portuguese. While I couldn't understand it, it was a really upbeat and fun album to listen to. Most of the songs in this album are songs I would play at a party or during a car ride with the windows down just enjoying the moment. Since I couldn't understand the lyrics I don't believe there is much else that I can comment on. I give this album a 9/10.

Shake Your Money Maker by The Black Crowes

Album #4 January 15th 2026 Favorite Song: Struttin Blues I really enjoyed this album. I may just be a rock guy, but I really enjoyed the instrumental with the singer voice, I think it all fit together really well. Each of these songs were generally about something to do with women. I did like in a few of the songs where after all of the lyrics finished up, there was about a minute of instrumentals. I would definitely spend the time to listen through this album again. I will rate it 8/10.
