1001 Albums Summary

incredibly beautiful. i’ve heard a few songs from this album like lover, you should’ve come over, grace and forget her but never did a full listen. the songs lilac wine and eternal life are incredible and truly encapsulate buckley’s nature as both an artist and a person.

one of my fav albums of all time. i think billy joel perfectly highlights in this album a cynical yet relatable narrative of love, relationships and personal identity. my personal favourite has always been just the way you are, and although vienna is incredible and arguably the most popular on the album (for a valid reason), i think the anecdotal style of songs like “scenes from an italian restaurant” on this record are equally as exceptional.

where to begin with this one, and not for good reason. this is one of the dullest, most REPETITIVE albums i might have ever listened to. this simply leaves you unsatisfied, you begin listening and here some decent instrumentation, but are met with the same old monotonous lyrics. a poooor poor attempt at blues rock imo. the best song if i had to choose would be never gonna give you up, but that’s actually not even there original song which i think tells you everything needed to be said about this piece

although very repetitive at times that make you skip a few, it’s kind of undeniable that this album by fat boy slim resembles a true era of the 90s. i’m a big fan of the layering in his music. i’ve heard most popular hits like right here right now etc, but my fav on full listen has to be gangster trippin’

i think you cannot deny that ray charles was so so highly influential during the 20th century, and listening to this full album in this current year shows why this is true soul music. a true album of love filled with yearning, some anguish and overall true adoration in its purest form.
