1001 Albums Summary

just an overall insane debut. The benefit of hindsight had me waiting for psycho killer and the way the album builds to it and sprinkles in little motifs makes it feel like a centrepiece, but pulled up at the end seals it with such an energetic climax that i was caught off guard immediately after PK. The album definitely has one sound but in a way that feels like one brilliant whole rather than a repetitive set of songs. Grooved to it the whole time and it’s no wonder Talking Heads took off like they did.

soundtrack to your aunt’s divorce. even the well known ones i know (outta know, hand in my pocket, ironic) i feel just don’t age well. head over feet was probably the album highlight for me
