I like the tenderness of the vocals and how they often shift into a crescendo. I would say that’s the number one element of making these songs feel “big.” Sometimes, though, the drama of these moments doesn’t move me much. If I were to say why it’d be because there’s sort of a standard of expectation, and the threshold for doing something more with the drama isn’t met often.
