Generally, loved it. 4* because some moments here you probably had to be at the party to fully get it. Bloody good party though!

I wasn’t into this idea, I won’t lie. I don’t know who I thought Van Halen were, but they aren’t. Totally changed my mind. Running With The Devil and Enterprise not my sounds at all, but You Really Got Me is a sick cover and by the time you get to the tight harmonies, I’m all in. Take it as the theatre that it is and it is brilliant. The guitar leaves me a bit flat to be honest but the vocals are the thing that got me

I like this post punk sound, always have, the problem for me is although it’s “cool” when I listen to this today it’s a little too jangly guitar and palatable, it just makes me want Amyl and the Sniffers instead. But I think I would have had a totally different reaction in 1981. Context is everything. Don’t dislike it. Doesn’t set my world on fire either. Have always loved this vocal style though, whatever it may be called.

She’s got a great voice obviously. Doesn’t get me in the guts emotionally.
