1001 Albums Summary

Wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy this after the first couple of tracks, but as the album went on my impression changed. Still probably wouldn't be something I return to anytime soon, but there were some tracks I legitimately enjoyed. Better when they have the bit between their teeth. Favourite Track: Add It Up

Jazz really isn't my thing. I can't say I disliked it, but I don't ever see me returning to it. I'm sure there's reverence and importance to this album, but to me, it sounded like 40 minutes of music that would back a quirky 1960s film.

That was bloody great. Never really gone in on Kraftwerk before, but I really enjoyed this album. Would definitely return and am keen to explore more.

First time listening to a full Bowie album. Not sure if this is something I'd return to often - it's a bit quaint and jangly, but you can't deny the big songs like "Changes" and "Life on Mars" bring anything other than utter timeless classics.

Total vibes here. I would be losing my mind if I were in a field, intoxicated and had this playing live on stage in front of me, but sat in traffic, in the rain on my drive to work is an entirely different scenario. I actually took to this more as the record went on. I thought it was going to be a real slog, but I can see the appeal here. You just need to be high to really appreciate it.

I could listen to Elton John all day. That being said, I did twitch when I saw this was a near-two hour double album. The absolute cheek of the man, opening with an eleven minute rock-opera track that Meatloaf would be proud of. Great all through, but truly excellent when he picks up the pace. Your Sister Can't Twist into Saturday Night's Alright is riotous. What it must have been like to see this guy live during this period. Jeez.
