1001 Albums Summary

overall, this album's pretty nice for my first day! could i tell the difference between any of the songs if i was blindfolded? no, but they're good nonetheless. i might add some of these songs to my jazz/bossa nova playlist... numerically, i think i'd place this at a solid 3.5/5. this has way more soul than the crap that plays on the radio now.

honestly... i'm not a huge fan of people who sound like they're half-singing, half-talking. it's just not my cup of tea. i love the instrumentals, but it's intolerable with that voice (not that i'm gonna judge anyone who likes this album a lot, i can understand!). i think "winter lady" and "teachers" get a pass, though; those are when leonard's voice matches the vibe of the instrumental. now, i'm usually super easy to please music-wise. am i also super picky? yeah! so take my negative reviews with a grain of salt, and don't let anyone's opinion dictate yours.
