1001 Albums Summary

Very chaotic

HOLES?! Lol This album is so 1999. The nostalgia is real. It sounds like how I imagined my adult life to be. Great soundtrack music. If Sinners was made in the early 2000s this guy woulda done the score. I also wonder if Beyoncé has heard this. Probably lol. I can see some commonalities between this and Renaissance and Cowboy Carter. Fave tracks: Honey, If things were perfect, Princess.

Didn’t listen to the full album, but I don’t think it’s my thing.

Some music needs to be listened to in headphones. This is one of those albums. I think that’s fitting because this album feels like visiting someone else house. Small details of a person tucked into corners a behind doors. What that person shows to the world and what they choose not to. There’s elements to this album that are not my fav like all the misogyny, but it’s hard to escape that, especially in 2006. Fav tracks: bad mouth kid, whip you with a strap, be easy and barbershop.

I am more familiar with the temptations older work and I like it, BUT I love this! This albums sounds so smooth and feels almost dreamlike to me. I can’t believe they thought this album would flop! Fav tracks: all of them lol

Half of it was one song and that was wild! I like some of the organ and guitar on this album buuuttt don’t think I’ll listen again.

I really like this album! It’s different from other songs I’ve heard from him. I enjoyed the piano and harmonica on this album a lot. Fav tracks: Boogie on Reggae Woman, Creepin’, You Haven’t done Nothing, Please Don’t Go.

Message in a Bottle is classic!! I didn’t think I’d like this album though but was pleasantly surprised. Definitely would listen again.
