Mothership Connection by Parliament
Feb 23 2026

1. P-funk(wants to get funked up)- 5/10 Good starter song for the album but it nothing too special to me. I like the background music and singing but I don’t love that most of the song the main guy is just talking. It’s also a bit long in my opinion since there’s no large climax in the song so it feels a bit repetitive. 2. Mothership connection(star child)-5.5/10 Once again background singing and noise caries the song. It is repetitive again but it doesn’t bother me as much, I don’t love the lack of singing from main vocalist though. 3. Unfunky UFO-6/10 All the lyrics are repetitive but it’s alright. I liked how it wasn’t as much talking and the main vocalist was singing more. All of these songs have similar lyrics which I don’t love. 4-supergroovalisticprosifunkstication(The Bumps Bump) -3/10 I really didn’t like the how there was a very deep guys voice randomly. The lyrics are just soooooo repetitive, I can tell these songs are music forward rather than lyrics but I need some diversity in the lyrics. The background music was a little bit more odd in this one but not in a good or bad way. In a way I like the music. 5- Handcuffs- 8/10 I liked the background music and I like the vocals. Lyrics are a bit more diverse rather than the same lyrics said in a different order 50 times. I would actually listen to this. This is my favorite to far 6. Give up the Funk(Tear the roof off the sucker) -7/10 This is their most popular song and it’s definitely one of the better songs on this album. I just don’t think the constant mention that this is funk music is necessary in the lyrics. I like the little “la la la la la” it sounds satisfying. Again the background vocals are really good on this they lowkey be carrying the album. I think I’ll this to my liked songs too 7. Night of the thumpasorus people- 6/10 I really like the title that just silly. There’s no vocals in this song which I don’t usually love in songs but in this case it’s alright. I kinda prefer in a sense because those lyrics were killing me a bit. There is background vocals but no actual lyrics, I could see this being good study music because of that. Overall rating average: 5.8/10 I feel like that rating fits well in my opinion, the background singing and music was overall pretty good but the lack of singing and repetitive lyrics kinda killed it for me. I definitely prefer songs that have strong vocals but this didn’t really have it, also almost every song had the word funk I just didn’t think it was necessary and it made it less diverse and unique to me. This is my first time really listening to funk music so I’m not sure if it’s just that I don’t like it or if it’s just this album, I’ll have to see I guess.

Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park
Feb 24 2026

1. Papercut- 7.5/10 I’ve already listened to this song so I already knew I liked it. I like the nu metal aspect of the song and it has good instrumentals. It’s also catchy in my opinion. 2. One step closer- 7/10 Again I’ve already heard this song before I knew I liked it. I don’t like it as much as papercut but it’s still good. Honestly it’s not the most amazing song ever but it’s not bad, catchy, it reminds me of making old tic toks. 3. With You - 8/10 I haven’t heard this before but immediately I like the instrumentals, especially at the beginning it’s very unique. I’m not really into nu metal right now but I could totally see me loving this when I am in that mood 4. Points of authority- 8.5/10 Never heard this song, I like the first couple lyrics. This song is a bit more singing less yelling which I like. This is prob my fav song on the album so far at least. I also like the lyrics 5. Crawling-7.5/10 I feel like every that listens to rock knows this song. It’s not bad it’s just not my favorite off the album. I do like it, i especially like the chorus but this song is a bit overplayed. I do like the lyrics again 6. Runaway- 8.7/10 Sounds like bubbles popping. This is definitely different than the other songs on this album I do like it. The chorus is really catching I like this one. I like that there’s singing and then a verse is more screaming focused, I also think that makes the lyrics have more meaning. This is my fav song far. 7. By myself- 8/10 All these songs are about being stuck in our heads it feels like. This one is good though, I wonder what prompted them to write an album like this. Again I really like the chorus specifically the beginning it sounds so satisfying. 8. In the end -7.7 This is another popular song, not bad though. In this song I’d say the verses are carrying rather the choruses. This song definitely focuses heavily on the lyrics but I like it. This is their most popular song, which is understandable since it’s a breakup song but a good one at that. I also think people can relate to it in different aspects than just a breakup which is good. 9. A place for my head- 7/10 This song also sounds very unique and different than the other songs on this album with the guitar. I do like the instrumentals but I’m not a big fan of the lyrics or vocals on this one. Actually vocals are alright but I don’t love the lyrics something’s just off about them to me. I do like this though. 10. Forgotten - 7.5/10 A place in my head went perfectly into this song I didn’t even realize a new song started, I find that very cool. I do like this song too I don’t have much to say about it. 11. Cure for the itch -7.5/10 All these songs are similar but very unique to each other at the same time. I feel like this song has more hip hop influences. It’s basically just an instrumental track which will never be my favs unless it’s jazz, but this one is good. I think if there was a song with a similar vibe to this but with lyrics it would eat. 12. Pushing me away-5.5/10 Nothing really stands out to me on this song. Of course instruments are good and everything but it’s just not anything special really. I kinda feel like since this is the last song on the album it wasn’t super needed. Overall average:7.5/10 The songs seem to be short around 3 minutes each but there’s a lot more songs. I think the fact these songs were shorter worked well, I don’t think long songs are bad but short works better for this.
