I've known a few of these thanks to my brother's music taste, he never outright shared them with me, so all I could do was steal them when he wasn't looking. _______________________________________________________________________ "Jenny Was a Friend of Mine": Sinister and fun, I really like the way the vocals sound, combined with the way the melody switches from suspenseful to upbeat. "Mr. Brightside": An all times clasic, kinda hard to relate to it without sounding like a total loser, but I like it a lot. "Smile Like You Mean It": It’s fun how the vocals go much slower than what the song seems to want to go, it's a little sappy, and I like it because of that. "Somebody Told Me": At this point is clear the killers really like having something like an A and B melody, it’s like they mesh two songs that would sound fine on their own to make something interesting. At the very least, it impresses me, but I hope that won't be all of their tricks up their sleeves. "All These Things That I've Done": For a title like that, it's surprising how funky this song is. I'm always up for these types of sounds, a little way too much sentimental, but alas i am a sentimental one too. "Andy, You're a Star": One, if not my favorite from the whole album, god i relate so much. It goes between pure hatred and jealousy and untold love, man, what an amazing song. "On Top": Now this! This feels like its own complete thing! Really cool and explosive, I also feel like even though the lyrics are cheerful, they're hiding some sort of early celebration? like the feeling that you've made it, but you've really not done anything yet, maybe more like anticipation then. "Change Your Mind": My GOD this song was made for me. There’s nothing left in this love but hope. Needy and clingy, but if there’s a spark somewhere, isn’t it cruel not to have hope for something else? What a nice and sappy song, also really short. "Believe Me Natalie": The crescendo is clear, while building from the high intensity of the previous track, it brings it to the forefront with more urgency, and at the same time, it slows the melody down. Really sweet and sad, the lyrics also convey the same clinginess as well. "Midnight Show": Starts strong, but i dont feel too much about it by the end, even though it has more variety in lyrics, it becomes all jumbled down once it’s over. I'm trying to avoid reading into others' interpretations, but there seems to be a story within some of these as a whole, maybe that’s why I'm not engaging with it as a whole? idk "Everything Will Be Alright": CHRISTMAS SONG. I'm kidding, but yeah i like its lullaby feel, a bit too much, but I cannot get it out of my mind. "Glamorous Indie Rock & Roll": Here it is! The album closer! very sarcastic, maybe too much, cmon man, do you really need to do this much? Maybe so haha, it wasn’t working for me at the beginning because of how much of a downer it is, hold on i think it still isn't working for me. This album screams middle school, in all the best and worst ways possible. Some songs are way better than others, but I dig the sound!. I think I'll keep on listening to them for a long while.
