1001 Albums Summary

Great album, nothing really tops 'five years' - and it does feel like it slowly starts to lose quality towards the end. Maybe suffragette city would have been better placed as the second or third track. Either way, it was a nice re-listen

The album is fine - short, lots of similar songs. Plenty of memories listening to this when it was new. I mean the idea of MGMT is cool - the two kids in school making tunes - and they are amazing tunes, no doubt there. Weekend Wars is cool - I like them, never loved, but they have their place

Started off pretty uninspired but really gained traction the more I listened. Four cornered room was the stand out hit - very pleased I gave it the full listen. It's also nice to listen to something from the early 70's and think of that time.

Again, like WAR - the album only really took off after the intro. The sunshine rising in your eyes song was a sure shot way to ensure it's success. The vibes were good - not like I could ever write like that. Excited for the next.

Really Really not for me - don't see the appeal. Although I spoke with Alex at the podcast and he mentioned that it's not his best work but the appeal of Miles was that he was there for it all, through every generation - so maybe some context would make me enjoy it more..

Loved it, like the cure - New Romantic stuff, never heard of them before

Hated it. First DNF - just soppy love ballads, don't understand what people get from it. Two discs of the same song... just really not great.

From the kick off I can see why it's a stone cold classic. Absolute Belter of an album - 10/10 wicked. Worth its place on the wall of history. Had me thinking a lot about how amazing Mark Ranson was as a producer

Nice, Typical Blues Album done pretty perfectly. Didn't realize the band was formed in part by Eric Clapton, having the Layla song. The blues sound makes sense now. It's amazing how 'samey' blues can be. I've been a fan for a long time, but, it all follows such a pattern - great jam music of course, and Layla is an exception - it's not a blues jamesque track. Either way, decent Album - mental to think it was out 17 years before I was born... The world ages.

Grand album - I mean for the time it must have been incredible.
