Can't Buy A Thrill by Steely Dan
Feb 27 2026

Not really my genre exactly but I can't deny the artistry and skill on display here, and it made really good background music.

The White Album by Beatles
Mar 03 2026

The Beatles are so funny, you have one of the greatest songs ever written (While my guitar gently weeps) next to a truly irredeemably awful song (Wild honey pie). Still an easy 5/5 album, their misses do miss but boy do their hits HIT. That being said, the album is fairly consistent, although I think it would be a lot better if it was 20 songs rather than 30, it stretches on a bit long even when every song is like 2 minutes long. Revolution 9 was experimental but also wholly unnecessary. Did not need the ASMR to end the album

Green by R.E.M.
Mar 04 2026

It's weird to listen to whiny pop punk rock that I don't like because it isn't familiar to me. I feel like if I listened to this when I was younger or if I had some emotional attachment to this, I'd like it. It's no worse than Front Bottoms, but I have such an affection for the bad singing there and it just doesn't do anything for me. there were some technically well made songs, with some good bass lines and guitar riffs, but the singing and melodies were just really rough for a lot of it.

Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs by Derek & The Dominos
Mar 05 2026

I cheated a little and looked at the reviews and it turns out this Clapton guy is super racist. he is, however, a pretty talented guitar player. That being said this felt very white boy blues and I didn't really vibe with it all that much.
