this was l8ser bowie where he forgot how to write a lyric, was recovering from being a bung-destitute-cocaine loving L.A. dropout. I think in and amongst that haze, he had some sense of purpose though. he must've. this album still has meaning, albeit tragic. 3.5/5. highlight: sound and vision.
um, this guy just needs to stfu with this loud ASS HARMONICA. it is actually, painful at times and i fear i may now need an eardrum reconstruction. i love fourth time around! but this is an album review, not a fourth time around review so 2/5 also, why is it when he sings 'just like a woman' it feels so...creepy? but when jeff buckley does it, it feels beautiful? i fear this opinion will only fuel the incel community.
this is quality, but, i also fear i am not entirely the target audience. knowing their catchier stuff though, i prefer this. it is raw and rough around the edges and feels heavier, which imo has way more swagger than no one knows... which lowkey just feels like depressed dad music. 3/5
