Songs In The Key Of Life by Stevie Wonder
Mar 16 2026

Calm listen. Something I would typically pass off at first glance but was very eye-opening musically. A lot of formative pieces in this album alone, I counted like three different samples/derivatives. Definitely well worth its hype. Confusion was one of my favorites, very pivotal point in the album. No words needed, the music drives the story forward.

Play by Moby
Mar 17 2026

Im not gonna shit on the album, it's good music. But is it a must listen before you die? I'm not sure. I'm not too experienced in electronic music and I can see how this did well commercially- it's a relatively easier listen for people not versed in the genre. That being said, I've listened to electro that had me far more engaged than I was at any point in this listen... and I listened in the studio. Find my Baby and Sunspot were the only tracks that made me look for the name. Everything else felt overly sync. For that reason I probably wouldn't go back to any individual track, but I'm not ruling out a second, maybe third listen to see if I can warm up to it. only 5/5 is the album cover, shits hard as fuck #baldpride

The Atomic Mr Basie by Count Basie & His Orchestra
Mar 18 2026

It's good, don't get me wrong but I'm not a fan of big band as much as modal jazz. I ultimately feel like it doesn't age well. Listened on repeat for the better part of two hours and it served well as background, but I'm not sure any tracks make it to my jazz playlist. still better than Moby

I never expected anything on this list to piss me off. I have no place to say anything because I turned it off for nettspend, but this album is not engaging at all. people basically only listen to killer queen and then the rest is nothing burger
