1001 Albums Summary

Underwhelming?! Honestly felt like once I'd heard Tiny Dancer I'd heard them all. Not sure if it's my cuppa tea, at least not a full album of it. I think if I was hearing these as standalone tracks I could get more behind them (I did already know and love Tiny Dancer beforehand) but they began to merge into each other with the similar slow, belty, dramatic vibe. Every song is a crescendo so none of them stand out hugely. Indian Sunset was the only other track that stood out somewhat to me, but don't think I'll be rushing back. Also feel like Elton's voice doesn't hugely range emotionally, it doesn't feel super characterful. It's always 100% emotion. Relistening: Vibing more with the instrumental of Holiday Inn. In general I feel I'm vibing more with the instrumentals and less with the vocals, maybe I'm not a huge fan of Elton's vocals! Bit karaoke-y???
