First full Beatles album! I’m realizing that I like shorter albums but this was manageable because all the songs felt distinct. I’ve heard many many of these songs, too, but not all in one place like this. There’s some cool panning too especially in Revolution 9. I also thought revolution 9 was the most interesting and experimental song on the album. I generally like art that takes risks so I liked it but I wouldn’t put it on to listen to even though I enjoyed my first experience.
Favorites: Dear prudence, the continuing story of bungalow bill, blackbird, rocky raccoon, I will, Julia, cry baby cry
7/10
Funky! Not my preferred genre but you can tell it’s really good music. Some of it sounds a little Michael Jacksony to me. Seeing this live would be super cool.
Favorites: too young to die, emergency on planet earth, music of the mind, revolution 1993, when you gonna learn (live)
Go Latin rock! I didn’t feel obsessed with any song in particular but I would put this on to cook or something and jam out. Fast as you can by Fiona Apple is to when the pawn as incident at neshabur is to abraxas. Would love this if I wanted to just listen to guitar riffs. Perfect album for a guitar riff lover. Very impressive but as it went on it became less to my taste.
Favorites: black magic woman, oye como va
7/10
That intense guitar in e pro wasn’t what I was expecting off the bat but hell yeah! I like his voice a lot and I knew his song called loser. Hell yes seems to be popular but I don’t like it. The album felt like it got worse towards the end for me but I was a fan of a lot of the sound on here!
Favorites: girl, missing, earthquake weather, go it alone
7.5/10
The creepy part is that yesterday I said to my mom that I wanna listen to a Michael Jackson album soon and then this popped up. But again I felt the highs were high and the rest was just alright. Don’t play with man in the mirror RAH.
Favs: bad, the way you make me feel, man in the mirror, dirty Diana, smooth criminal
Stop I was so excited to see this pop up I freaking love the talking heads and don’t know enough of their music. This is cool girl music. I listened to the deluxe version and I thought the unfinished outtakes were pretty jammy! I don’t think they’d be hits but like they were shredding for a bit there.
Favs: the great curve, once in a lifetime, houses in motion, the overload
Making Mr. Agin proud iykyk. Very autumn! All the songs I like are ones that I would listen to around Halloween but probably not during the rest of the year.
Favs: light my fire, end of the night, take it as it comes, the end
This is a dnf by choice. Probably not bad for this genre but wow this is not my genre. No thanks. No favs.
Summer vibes fs.
Favs: bluebird, sad memory, broken arrow
Girl bands for life
Favs: overground, jigsaw feeling, the staircase
Favs: blueberry hill, Mardi Gras in New Orleans
Favs: the stars are out tonight, where are we now, you feel so lonely you could die, heat
All the way from Memphis is so jazzy and it makes me wanna dance! The violins in violence yes.
Favs: all the way from Memphis, whizz kid, hanoloochie boogie, violence
So neutral about this one. No favs but I didn’t hate it.
