this is such a special album to me! it takes me right back to my early teenage days (just for the record: 2017, not 1967, lol), and makes me think that younger me truly was onto something, she definitely knew ball... anyways. sgt. pepper's, as a whole, has an incredible energy around it, almost as if it could take you through time and space. it is upbeat, it is relaxing, it makes you wanna sing along to the lyrics, it feels as if it's caressing your soul. not every album can say they achieve this beyond-reality feeling. i find side A to be pretty much perfect in that regard — even benefit of mr. kite, that i don't hate or think is bad but it's not one i listen to often, has this otherworldly sensation. side B is great as well, but i connect to it a little less. except, of course, for a day in the life, my favorite song in the album and one of my favorites in the whole beatles' discography. this song is magic in itself.
