Profoundly mid; it's losing my religion but without the catchy hook. Tracks 3, 7, 10, 11 might warrant further listening.

Boston by Boston

Guardians of the Galaxy type of music, just good old upbeat rock – with a couple of deliciously surprising moments peppered in. It's the kind of music that keeps one going on long, warm summer night drives, but I wouldn't seek it out regularly.

Born In The U.S.A. by Bruce Springsteen
Apr 04 2026

Springsteen goes near-full pop in this upbeat trucker album, but the lyrics blast a nostalgic disapproval of the US' negligence towards its people, a still-relevant commentary on the patriotic American denial of its reality – cheerfully in decline.

Off to a strong start, then it gets lost in Kanye rants where lyrics take priority over sound, except the lyrics are mid. Thankfully, it finds its way back to more creative sound in Testify

Melodrama by Lorde

An extra star for a measurable reduction in ear bleeding compared to 'Royals'. 'The Louvre' is borderline inoffensive and lulled me into a false sense of complacency before the sudden onslaught of some of the most jarring and caustic notes ever committed in a mainstream pop song. There are moments of decent production and beats, immediately undercut by lazy simile. Nice cover.
