Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand

Great edginess. I am not typically an early 2000s rock fan but liked this a lot. Lowkey emo as fuck, which is not normally my cup of tea, but still upbeat and jam worthy, so I rocked with it. Extremely engaging and kick ass grunge. Would recommend this album. Favorite 2: Take Me Out, Auf Achse

Quite a strange techno album. It felt a bit all over the place. Very unique sound but a smidge too chaotic for my taste. Giving a more grunge Daft Punk… on crack….maybe heroin too… and coke… lol what a wild listen. I appreciate it for its uniqueness but not sure I’d listen to again, sorry!! Favorite 2: Rockefeller Skank, Praise You

Tommy by The Who
May 02 2026

Better than expected. More down to earth and chill than their other albums. Sounds similar to the Beatles (same weirdness and uniqueness) but packed with more rock n roll. Maybe even CCR adjacent too! A smidge long in my opinion but pretty solid album overall Favorite 2: Pinball Wizard, Tommy Can You Hear Me?

Zombie by Fela Kuti
May 03 2026

Super jazzy 70s jazz album. All instrumental. Upbeat and riveting. Very cool usage of bass to add to all the swing and spunkiness. Short (only 4 songs) but heavily enjoyed. Would love to see this live. Favorite 2: Zombie, Mr. Follow Follow

Odelay by Beck
May 04 2026

Wild and weird. Too experimental and strange for my liking. It was all over the place. Some of the songs were pretty entertaining but then others made me wanna plug my ears. I definitely appreciate the uniqueness of this album but could not see myself putting this into my daily rotation. Favorite 2: Hotwax, Where It’s At

Aladdin Sane by David Bowie
May 05 2026

Honestly… pretty impressed. I had never really loved Bowie’s voice but his talent and craft shined in this album. Very upbeat and fun. He is very whimsical within his music which I find very interesting. Every song feels like a rendition of a Broadway performance. I bet he was incredible to watch live. I was between a 3 and 4 for this, but bumped it up for how unique and eclectic this album was. Still don’t love his voice but I really appreciate his art Favorite 2: Watch That Man, The Prettiest Star
